The lunar surface of New York.
There is something beautiful about the coastal areas of Long Island in deep winter. The Atlantic is very rough and the clouds are almost crying with emotion. The light is surreal - and not a soul ventures out in the cold. That's a shame - because they will never see something like this. (BTW - this is a photo from my LG Shine phone of my sons Roman and Beck)Freezing cold is great, but we can't wait to get out to the LA office!

Resistance is futile.
I am worthless. I am weak. And you know what - you can be too!I just finished my first Russian Kettlebell seminar with Fe (iron - remember?) Long Island. This is a tough class that is a combination of strength training, cardio, and stamina training. I can handle a kettlebell pretty well - but I was beaten down by this class. I highly recommend this class if you want to be stronger, lose weight, and work your cardiovascular system. Visit the site for dates and times.
If you live in the NY area - it is well worth the trip.

When you love something, set it free.
Does your vocation define who you are? Or do you decide how you are defined? I constantly tell myself "my work does not define me, man." But it does, I am basically a walking iMac with a MacBook in my backpack. For better or worse, I am thinking of solutions 24 hours a day - in the middle of the night - or when I am driving really fast.
Thankfully, I have a job that I love - and I feel it is really cool to be defined by it. I can not imagine life doing something I despised. As long as my kith and kin are happy, I feel that I can desire one more thing - a Jaguar XKR so I can drive even faster. ________________________________________________________________________
Planes over my house.
I am planning on designing a photo essay of planes. On certain days, we get a lot of international carriers flying over our house en route to JFK in New York. Sometimes they fly low and I comment that "planes are landing on the roof tonight." But everyone who lives in this area - the North Shore of Long Island - shares the pain. Even the 35 million dollar mansions the next town over have planes on the roof.
Anyway, my essay will be about branding of Airlines. Air China makes the best use of the fuselage that I have seen so far - and I will tell you why when I get around to writing/designing this piece. I have some specific ideas for aircraft branding that will cut through the clutter - so if you are in need of this service - let me (OSNOVA) know. There is a contact form on osnovagroup.com In the meantime, I have to go back underwater for a week or so. See you when I can come up for air again.

My superbowl TV spot favorites.
1.) Tide "silence the stain
Absolutely brilliant - and if it were longer - it would have induced flashbacks in me and a couple of others in the room.
2.) Audi "old luxury"
I love everything this commercial stands for - and the Audi R8 is beautiful. I want one.
3.)Toyota "badger"
This was funny since I married a woman who is my personal protective badger - and will "tear your face off" if you mess with her (or me)
4.) Coke "Balloons"
Great Art Direction and design - very poetic - but also kind of milk-toast and safe. But so what?
5.) Doritos "mouse"
Just fantastic.
